- Registration: Permanent or provisional registration certificate issued by MCI or the State Medical Council.
2. Entrance Examination
NEET-PG: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduates (NEET-PG) is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). It is the primary entrance test for MD/MS admissions in India.
3. Admission Process
- Counseling: Qualified candidates must participate in the counseling process conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota (AIQ) seats and respective state counseling authorities for state quota seats.
- Seat Allotment: Seats are allocated based on merit, preferences, and availability during the counseling sessions.
4. Management and NRI Quota and Institutional Quota Admissions:
- Management Quota: Private medical colleges and deemed universities in India offer a certain percentage of seats under the management quota. Admission to these seats still requires candidates to qualify in NEET-PG. The fee structure for management quota seats is generally higher and varies across institutions.
- The NRI Quota: NRI (Non-Resident Indian Quota) is a reserved category in Indian educational institutions for students who are Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) or have NRI parents. It is primarily available in medical colleges.
- The Institutional Quota: It is a category of seats in private and deemed universities that the institution itself manages. These seats are usually filled at the discretion of the college, often based on merit or direct admission.
